Stephen Hayes is a competitor, coach, and trainer within the sport in both Europe and the US. Based year-round at Perfect Harmony Dressage in New York and Wellington, Florida, Stephen has ridden to the FEI level and coached many riders to achieve their bronze, silver, and gold medals.
Stephen has trained extensively with Olympic riders including Beatriz Ferrer-Salat of Spain and Vicki Thompson-Winfield of the UK, as well as with Olympic-level judges. The knowledge and experience he has gained through these partnerships are passed along to his students in a friendly, approachable, and highly effective way.
In addition to his Florida training base, Stephen has conducted dressage clinics around the world—in the UK, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, and Malaysia.
He also holds the prestigious USDF “L Graduate” certification, qualifying him to judge USEF schooling shows in the US—a perspective that further enriches his coaching.
Stephen has coached riders to CDI success and is known for his enthusiastic, positive style that inspires confidence in both horse and rider.
